Trip to the neighborhood Pumpkin Patch

So Sean and I made a trip to our neighborhood pumpkin patch with the two little ones last weekend.  They set it up in an empty field a few blocks down from our home.  They had hayrides, a little maze, big slides, corn sand box, and a small pumpkin patch.  Yaya and Keaton had a blast and I think they liked the slide the most.  It was a beautiful warm fall day, the weather was perfect.  We promised the older boys we would bring them home each a pumpkin to carve.
The boys are so excited about trick or treating tonight.  We have a few friends coming over to join in with us.  Our neighborhood is very kid friendly, last year our boys only did our street and filled up their candy bags!!  This year they told me they are doing the whole neighborhood but they are using their bikes. :-)
I will post pictures later of our pumpkin carving yesterday and they costumes from tonight.  Yesterday it was almost 80 degrees so we took the pumpkins outside and sat on the driveway to carve them, you could of not asked for a better day.
Also poor Gavin asked to play "PIG" and "HORSE" with me and mommy won!  I used to play basketball in school and it has always been my favorite sport.  We played around the world last week and Mommy got around the world before Gavin even started! Ha He likes it though and tells me not to let him win, I have a feeling someday he will be taller than me and I will not have a chance.

Please pray for this little girl!!

We brought our daughter home from China in Dec. 2006, she was a special needs baby with a diagnosis of cavernous hemangioma and concave chest. The hemangioma was bad but treatable. Shortly after coming home we found out her true diagnosis - NF1 (neurofibromatosis) It's a genetic disorder, actually the most common type occurring in 1 out of every 3000. Symptoms can vary from nearly none to multiple. Sydney unfortunately has a very large tumor, it is wrapped around her left lung, her aorta, trachea, and her spinal cord. It also protrudes from her back. You would NEVER know she has anything wrong with her. There is no cure and the only treatment option is surgery. Sydney is NOT a candidate for surgery- there is just TOO much involvement. The ortho Dr. was hoping to have her chest repaired to help alleviate pressure on her spine as she has developed scoliosis (although I can't tell) but this too is out of the question, it would just be too risky. There are a few clinical trials coming up that may offer a glimmer of hope. I would so appreciate a prayer request on your blog - we need all the prayers we can get! Please pray for Syndey and pray BIG! God knows what she needs.

Our little sweetie!

It has been awhile!

Keaton and baby Will (my girlfriends little man)

Well my hubby left last Sunday the 12th to go out of town for the week. I had a hard time after dropping him off at the airport, Ava does not do well at night when he is gone and I new I had a long week ahead of me.
Sunday night she went to bed as usual. I got all the boys down and finished cleaning up the kitchen from dinner. I got ready for bed myself and laid my head on my pillow at 10:00pm, the second I closed my eyes she started crying! Nothing I did would make her happy or help her go back to sleep. She cried from 10:00pm until 4:15am, I was sooo tired and I new I had to get up at 6:00am to get all the boys ready for school.
I got the boys off to school and she was very crabby and so was I after having no sleep. She went down for a early nap. I closed my eyes for an hour then got up and finished cleaning the house, I had two girlfriends coming in from out of town with their little ones to visit for a couple of days.
Monday night the same thing happened, she woke at 11:00pm and cried until 4:30am. I was now going on 48 hours with no sleep! I was so tired I barely made it to the airport to get my girlfriends without falling asleep at the wheel. Ava sleep the whole time in the car so there would be no nap for me when we got back home.
I made a call to my hubby in tears asking him to come home early, I did not know how I was going to function with another night of no sleep. Ava also started coming down with a cold Tuesday night. My girlfriends wanted to help but she would not go to them and would freak if I left her sight. My hubby could not come home until Wednesday night, he had a bunch of important meeting he needed to finish. So I got to repeat another sleepless night on Tuesday night!! Now 72 hours of not more than 3 hours of sleep, I was a wreck!!
Wednesday night was heaven, my hubby came home and took care of Ava. I slept all night and it felt great! Ava also slept for daddy like she usually does.
Thursday morning my girlfriends and I got a couple of hotel rooms through the weekend and had a great time together, even though I was still trying to catch up on sleep. We had fun shopping and hanging out together. We had not been together in 4 years. Both of my girlfriends have seven kids so it was a nice break for them with just their youngest.
My hubby held down the fort at home with our five kiddos. He did experience a few sleepless nights because Ava ended up with an pretty bad ear infection. She is getting better and takes her medicine like a champ!
This week my hubby is home and the house is running normal. He is suppose to be out of town all next week but we are going to try and have a plan B just in case Ava decides not to let Mama sleep again.
The picture below is myself and my two girlfriends on my back deck. I cant believe how tired I look, was dragging big time!

Airforce/Navy Game

This past weekend we were lucky and receive four free tickets to the Airforce/Navy Game. We had great seats right on the 50 yard line! Preston stayed home with the neighbor girl and together they watched Keaton and Yaya. We were going to take Soren and Gavin but at the last minute Gavin was not feeling well so Soren called his buddy to come with us. This was our very first Airforce game and the weather was almost perfect. Not too hot or cold and we even had a little rain for about 5 minutes. The boys, Sean and I enjoyed Kettle Corn, Dippin Dots, Nachos and Chicken sandwiches! (Sorry Nicole) We had a good time and cant wait to do it again as a family. Navy did beat Airforce but it was a tight game at the end and it made it very exciting.

Having fun!

Beautiful Day for a Football Game

Gotta love a military Game!! The boys eyes were as big as saucers.
