Seeing Ava for the first time on Gotcha Day!!!
Finally after 18 months home my hubby and I spent a few late nights putting together our Journey to Ava on video!
It ended up being much longer so we shorten it quite a bit to be under 10 minutes for YouTube.
I cant believe we are coming up on two years home this summer. Our original LID was April 10th 2006 and they just matched that day a few weeks ago!! We switched to special needs in Dec. 2007 and saw Ava's face for the first time April 15th, 2008.
I still cant believe we would have just received our referral!?
I pray and think about all those families still waiting to see their child's face for the first time. Believe me every bit of this long wait is so worth it!!
It must be because we are doing it again!! ha

oh April, good thing it's the end of the day, cuz I have got black mascara streaming down my cheeks right now. Those videos always get me and this one was no exception! Beautifully done...Ava is sure to treasure this one day!! She is getting so big and has blossomed into such a stunningly beautiful little girl! Soon you will be making the trip back for Gemma. God is GOOD!! <><

I have tears streaming down my cheeks. As soon as I saw the picture of Sean painting Ava's room I realized that that was when I started following your blog.
I remember so vividly the whole trip and following each day on your adoption website to hear about the news of the day before. That was such an incredible diary and this just adds so much for Ava to know how much you all loved her even before you ever saw here.
I can't believe how fast the time has flown and how amazing it is that you have actually had your daughter this long rather than still waiting as so many in your shoes still are.
I am so excited to follow you again when you bring Gemma home!
